Travel beyond within 15 miles is often still possible — it just costs more, and I would rather quote it honestly than turn you away by default. Call with the address and I will tell you the real number.
One hard limit worth knowing: a notary's commission is granted by a single state. A California notary can only notarize within California, no matter where the signer lives or where the document will eventually be filed. If your signing is across a state line, I will help you find someone commissioned there.
